Lin the procrastinat-or :P
went to a talk yesterday by Professor Abdul Hakim Jackson on diversity and tolerance..it was a very interesting experience for me as it was my first time attending his series of talks and also my first time attending a talk on Islam in English by an American professor..and it's certainly very different..Syarahans by ustadz or ustadzahs from Singapore or across the causeways are certainly a far cry from what i attended yesterday..i dun mean to be rude or critical but syarahans tend to be more focused on rituals..which is also good cos it is a reminder for all of us to not forget our duties..however...the talk s i attended yesterday showed me the beauty of Islam...and how i could connest with my faith in a totally different way..and that there is more to Islam then performing my prayers five times a day.. i think the Muslims in Singapore fail to recognize that Islam is beyond a religion...it can be applied in all aspects of life and should not be viewed as something that hinders us from going thru our life like a normal person. well i do not think tat it is entirely the fault of the individual...it is our responsibility to explore Islam beyond what is expected of us..Insyallah....
well that is just my humble opinion ...
anw..i just wanna say sorry to sufiyan for not being able to mak it to his gathering at his place..i really wanted to go it's just that circumstances does not permit..i'm really sorry and i'd make it up to you...
today was spent mostly with the family after talaqqi class..just running errands and buying shoes for shirah...it was ok i guess..nothing much...
i really should stop procrastinating and get on with my work but i am so LAZY........................ -_-
ok la FINe..i'll do my work after dinner...........eerrggghhhh..
