i even found a tok din lookalike..hee we were both afraid to touch the bamboo shark...:s a pretty orange fishie :0) me very happy to be at underwater world
today me and shamiah headed to underwater world after my tuition..for our national heritage of singapore module..i was quite excited as i have not stepped into sentosa for about 6 years now..i still remember the last time i went was in sec 2..or was it sec 1..well aniwei i went to asian village with my class..i think asian village doesnt even exist now and not only that..the monorail is like gone...i still remember asking someone about the monorail and getting a weird stare from him/her..haiyah..how i noe?..I'm not cool wat...i don't go sentosa to sun tan...i cannot wear bikini wat....pepople will run away.. :P but aniwei sentosa is very diff now..duh..everything is like manicured..but i only went to underwaterworld..and even then it's more for studying the subtidal habitat...
aniwei the first thinig that greeted me at the entrance of the underwater world was actually the touching pool..(damn the name sounds wrong)..it's where you can dip your hands in this like tank and touch the animals inside..actually i expected it to be like the Sydney aquarium i went to..where the animals we get to touch are things like starfishes, sea cucumbers, sea urchins and so on and so forth..but here you get to touch "real" animals like bamboo sharks, stingray (that wont sting you) and even puffer fish...at first i was afraid..but i told shamiah that i was not leaving the place until i touched the shark which i eventually did..in the pic is actually this boy that i made friends with while i was at the touching pool...when i asked him for his name he said that he forgot..how sad..but he was really nice..and while we were there we talked about "finding nemo"..and other stuff..he said that the puffer fish was nemo's friend..which is kind of true..he was afraid to touch the shark too..like me..and he cannot reach the tank also..so sad..but he's cute so i took a picture with him..i dunno why he was lookin at me in the pic..
so as i moved along and look at the fishes i was so fascinated..i mean these are the species which are hidden away from us..and therefore sometimes we "forget" to conserve them..seriously some of the species look like they were from outer space.there were these crabs called giant japanese spider crabs which were like huge la..and also i must say yummy looking..hee..i was just imagining the amount of flesh i could get from it..hehehe...(maklumlah puasa)..a lot of the fishes made me hungry to...they were huge la..i was a bit disappointed with the highlight of the whole trip..which was you noe the underwater world itself..i expected to see like an original singapore subtidal habitat..but it was just a tank painted blue..with corals stratigically placed here and there..i must say that soem of the corals look fake...but overall i enjoyed my visit and treated myself to ben and jerrrys that i bought...yummy..unfortunately by the time i reached home it melted.. boo
today i felt better..i really hope that things would change...
